Jeonnam Province Digital Learning Center Provides Capacity Building Education to Veterans in Honor of the Month of Patriots and Veterans Affairs

Jeonnam Province Digital Learning Center Provides Capacity Building Education to Veterans in Honor of the Month of Patriots and Veterans Affairs


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Jeonnam Province Digital Competency Education Secretariat, TMD Education Group Co., Ltd., announced on the 25th that it conducted ‘Digital Competency Education’ for veterans at the Hoegun Veterans Hall in Goheung-gun in celebration of the June Month of National Defense and Veterans.


‘Digital Competency Education’ is part of the Korean New Deal policy, hosted and organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the National Information Society Agency, and Jeonnam Province.


The purpose is to provide digital education necessary for daily life near participants’ homes in accordance with the digital era.


On this day, veterans including Bae Yong-seong, head of the Goheung-gun branch of the Jeonnam Province chapter of the Disabled Veterans Association, participated and received education on installing COVID-19 vaccination certificates and changing smartphone wallpapers.


Bae, who participated in the education, said, “It is an honor to conduct digital competency education at the Goheung Veterans Hall,” and added, “I hope for much support so that our veterans who have devoted themselves to the country can fully enjoy the digital world.”


Eight organizations of the Disabled Veterans Association are housed in the Goheung-gun Veterans Hall, with 289 national merit recipients active as members.


Seong Gi-cheol, director of TMD Education Group Co., Ltd., which oversees the Jeonnam Province digital competency education project, said, “Many educational programs could not be conducted last year due to COVID-19,” and added, “This year, 85 digital learning centers in Jeonnam Province, including the Goheung-gun Veterans Hall, are actively operating.”


He continued, “We are pleased to provide digital education to national merit recipients and veterans in honor of the Month of National Defense,” and expressed his aspiration, “We will expand educational cooperation to other veterans organizations in Jeonnam Province and strive to bridge the digital divide for those who have devoted themselves to the country.”


Meanwhile, Dr. Choi Baek-man, who is in charge of this education, is reported to be preparing digital education on PCs, kiosks, AI speakers, etc., following lectures on smartphone usage over 10 sessions.
