Discovery of New Safety Technologies and Innovative Projects for Reducing Safety Accidents
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 25th that it held a workshop to gather the wisdom of construction technicians to discover new safety technologies and innovative tasks aimed at preventing major accidents.
At the workshop, after about two weeks of preparation, a small group meeting was held to select innovative tasks through discussions and internal evaluations following the presentation of the tasks.
The workshop generated a variety of opinions, including innovative ideas and new technologies for preventing major accidents, and after heated discussions, the ‘Air Mattress’ task was selected as the final innovative task.
The final adopted innovative task, ‘Air Mattress,’ was highly praised as a safety measure usable at sea, where the risk of fatal accidents from falls is high, and is expected to greatly help protect the ‘golden time’ for lifesaving.
Choi Sang-heon, Head of the Development Business Division of the Authority, said, “Through this workshop, we will strive to prepare measures to prevent safety accidents for construction site workers.” He added, “We will work hard for the safety of workers at Yeosu and Gwangyang ports.”
