Namwon-si Holds '7th Term Elected Mayor's Pledge Project Progress Report Meeting'

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 25th that it held the ‘7th Term Elected Mayor’s Pledge Project Progress Report Meeting’ at the city hall conference room, presided over by Mayor Lee Hwan-joo, with the deputy mayor and directors in attendance.

The report meeting was organized to review the progress of 34 projects across five major areas: ▲ culturally prosperous and dignified tourism ▲ dynamic regional economy with good companies and jobs ▲ education and welfare full of hope and happiness ▲ smart agriculture and affluent rural areas ▲ friendly communication administration and convenient urban environment, and to propose feasible alternatives for any difficulties encountered.

At the meeting, 25 projects such as the issuance of Namwon Love Gift Certificates, establishment of a general industrial complex, creation of an eco-friendly cosmetics cluster, strengthening customized infant welfare services, and establishment and operation of a dementia relief center were identified as projects that continue to be promoted after fulfilling the pledge contents, and it was decided to upgrade them in a more developmental direction and continuously expand them.

The city plans to complete two projects: attracting Jeonbuk National University Namwon Campus (contract department) and installing a rest area on the Suncheon-Wanju (Route 27) expressway.

Six projects, including the early opening of the National Public Medical University, introduction of eco-friendly electric trains in Jirisan, promotion of the Gaya Tumuli World Heritage registration, and adjustment of national park zones, will receive intensified administrative efforts to faithfully fulfill promises to citizens and realize trustworthy administration.

Mayor Lee Hwan-joo said, “Since pledges are promises to citizens, they must be the top priority of city administration, and each department should actively promote them with determination,” adding, “For projects that have been sluggish due to various issues, I hope active measures will be devised so that progressive results can be achieved through continuous efforts.”
