Hampyeong-gun Provides Temporary Living Expenses of 500,000 Won to Low-Income Households

[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County has achieved an application rate exceeding 179% for the government's COVID-19 response 'Temporary Livelihood Support Project' through active promotion, resulting in additional support for 615 low-income households in the area.

According to the county on the 25th, the Temporary Livelihood Support Project provides 500,000 KRW per household to low-income households whose income has decreased due to COVID-19 but who have not benefited from existing welfare programs or other COVID-19 damage support projects.

Initially, Hampyeong County expected to support 1,449 households, which was the application target.

However, to benefit more residents, the county actively promoted and encouraged applications, selecting a total of 2,579 households as candidates. Among them, 2,064 households were finally confirmed as project recipients, leading to additional support for 615 households.

The county will disburse approximately 730 million KRW in temporary livelihood funds over two days, the 25th and 28th.

On the 25th, 500,000 KRW per household will be paid to 1,043 general support recipients, and on the 28th, 20,000 KRW, the difference amount, will be paid to 1,021 recipients of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' small-scale farmers and fishermen voucher (300,000 KRW).

Kim Bonghyun, Director of the Resident Welfare Division, said, “Close promotion to ensure that no one misses applying due to lack of information despite hardships caused by COVID-19 was key to raising the application rate,” adding, “We will continue to carry out proactive administration to ensure that low-income groups in the area are not excluded from many benefits.”
