Changwon City Implements Various Veterans Affairs Projects to Commemorate the 71st Anniversary of the Korean War

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Korean War, invited the branch heads of the Changwon, Masan, and Jinhae 6.25 Veterans Associations to the city hall and held a meeting to express consolation and respect to the members who devoted themselves to the country, the city announced on the 25th.


On the same day, the city will perform a requiem to honor the patriotic spirits of the Korean War at the regular concert of the Changwon City Choir held at Seongsan Art Hall.


The city paid consolation money of 50,000 won each to 13,700 national veterans and implemented large banners and homepage banner advertisements to promote the Month of Patriots and Veterans.


Mayor Heo Seong-mu said, "I pay tribute to the 6.25 veterans, their families, and those who devoted themselves to the country," and added, "Changwon City will fulfill its duty to realize the value of veterans so that national veterans can be respected by citizens and descendants."


In addition, the city plans to publish a collection of hero diaries titled 'You Are the Hero' around the end of October.


The collection will mainly include stories of 6.25 veterans who actually experienced the war. In addition, stories of sacrificed veterans will be shared with citizens in the form of diaries.
