Shinhan Card Takes Initiative to Foster Startup Ecosystem in ESG Sector

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 25th that it has selected companies to participate in the startup nurturing program 'I'm Ventures with Visa' and revealed them through the D.Day event, the monthly demo day of D.CAMP.

The D.Day event is a demo day hosted monthly by D.CAMP, serving as a kind of startup debut stage. Starting recruitment in April, the program attracted high interest with about 400 companies applying during the approximately one-month recruitment period, and finally, six startups were selected.

The selected startups are 'Datanows', operating 'Richgo', an AI-based asset management platform; 'Fintubi', providing supply chain financial services in Southeast Asia; 'Wadle Co., Ltd.', operating 'Sorimarket', an interactive voice recognition solution for the visually impaired; 'Athenas Lab', running 'Oneul School', a community service for elementary and middle school life; 'ENDAND', a used luxury goods trading platform based on an online collective appraisal system; and 'Brighton Corporation', operating 'Whipshot', a digital content production management platform.

I'm Ventures with Visa collaborates not only with Visa, a global payment network, but also with D.CAMP, which is dedicated to revitalizing the startup ecosystem, and the Korea Productivity Center, a consulting specialist organization. Leveraging the expertise of these partners, it provides a one-stop service from startup recruitment, business model discovery, consulting, investment, to product commercialization support.

Shinhan Card's I'm Ventures with Visa is based on an in-house venture system started in 2016 and has been collaborating with startups since 2018, marking its fourth year this year. It jointly conducted parenting marketing and baby fairs with 'I&Nna', a startup specializing in pregnancy and childcare, and collaborated with 'Infinigru', a specialist in anomaly detection, to launch 'Phishing Eyes', a voice phishing prevention app. Additionally, it is promoting the launch of a partnership card with 'Aims', an eco-friendly mobility battery sharing platform.

A Shinhan Card official said, "This year, we expanded the scope of final company selection beyond existing digital finance areas such as payment, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data to include ESG (environment, society, governance) fields such as coexistence with eco-friendly and small business owners, and education for financial and socially vulnerable groups."
