[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver denied reports that it had signed a 'half-price commission' contract for in-app payments with Google.
On the 24th, Naver issued a statement saying, "The claim that Naver recently confirmed a contract to reduce payment commissions from 30% to 15%, a 'half-price commission,' is not true."
On the same day, a media outlet reported that Naver, which had criticized Google's mandatory in-app payment policy as 'power abuse,' was engaged in behind-the-scenes negotiations with Google and had signed a contract to participate in the 'Google Play Media Experience Program.'
Naver stated, "We have not signed any contract related to this with Google."
