[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 24th that it will recruit teams for the '2021 Visiting Social Economy Education' program throughout the year, aiming to raise local community awareness of the social economy and improve access to education.
The education content consists of the basic concepts of social economy organizations such as 'social economy enterprises,' 'village enterprises,' and 'cooperatives,' as well as a demand-oriented customized advanced course.
To apply, groups or gatherings of five or more people wishing to attend can visit the Naju Public Interest Activity Support Center or apply through the website.
The education will be conducted by visiting the locations of the towns, townships, or neighborhoods after coordinating the schedule with the applying groups.
The city plans to promote specialized and systematized education to support full-fledged entry into the social economy, such as corporate establishment and business model development, by linking the program with the Social Economy Enterprise Startup Academy course scheduled for the second half of the year for groups that complete the education.
Kang Dong-ryeol, Director of the Job Economy Division, said, "We will strive to provide demand-centered education that meets the needs of prospective entrepreneurs dreaming of social economy activities," and added, "We hope this education will serve as a catalyst for creating new jobs and fostering community coexistence through the expansion of social economy infrastructure."
Meanwhile, the city currently has 116 social enterprises active in various fields such as natural dyeing, food, agriculture, tourism, culture and arts, and welfare.
