Muan Hwangto Mudflat Online Festival Starts... Jeongin, Hongja, Son Taejin to Appear, Promising Success

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) opened the 8th Muan Hwangto Mudflat Online Festival on the 23rd under the slogan "Linking the Hwangto Mudflat and People" and began a five-day schedule.

According to the county on the 24th, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, this year's festival was held as a non-face-to-face online festival, and all programs can be viewed through the Muan Mudflat TV YouTube channel and the festival homepage.

On the first day of the festival, the schedule began with the travel YouTuber "Yeorak's Emotional Full Muan Travelogue," which captured the beautiful scenery of Muan, a region emerging as the best travel destination for campers, and the "Jinseokgi Era Mudflat Experience" video, which introduced the infinite charm of Muan by enjoying exciting experiences in the clean mudflat and cooking directly.

In addition, through the visiting street karaoke "Mudflat Gogo Show," which involved 45 teams from 9 towns and townships, participants were met in person before the festival to produce and upload videos to showcase the residents' overflowing talent and singing skills, providing local residents with the opportunity to participate as the main characters of the festival.

Furthermore, through the Hwangto Mudflat On-Air "Enjoyable 2 PM" program featuring Governor Kim San, Muan-gun PR ambassadors Kang Tae-kwan and Myungji, the festival schedule and programs were introduced, and quizzes related to Muan were solved to promote the region.

In particular, the opening concert featuring Korea’s premium vocalists Harim, Jung In, Hong Ja, and Son Tae-jin offered warm comfort and emotion to those exhausted by COVID-19, concluding the first day’s schedule.

Prior to the official festival period, the county has been operating online platforms such as the festival homepage and Muan Mudflat TV YouTube since the 1st, raising interest and response to the festival through various pre-events. During the festival period, mudflat quiz explorations related to the mudflat, YouTube subscription, and comment events will also be continuously conducted through the homepage.

Park Il-sang, chairman of the festival promotion committee, said, "The festival was held to widely promote Muan’s clean mudflats and beautiful tourist sites and to gain opportunities to promote and sell excellent agricultural products grown in high-quality Hwangto soil," adding, "We ask for much interest and participation so that the mudflat festival can grow into a representative ecological festival of Korea."

Governor Kim San said, "As a result of efforts to overcome the limitations of the online format and create a festival where local residents and viewers can enjoy and communicate together, it seems that many good programs that many people can participate in have been produced," adding, "Through this festival set against the Muan mudflat, home to many marine creatures such as the white-legged crab and goby, we will offer healing and emotion to viewers."
