[Asia Economy Reporters Seunggon Han, PD Jingeun Yoon] Former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae dismissed the 'Choo-Yoon conflict' phenomenon with Yoon Seok-yeol, a leading opposition presidential candidate and former Prosecutor General, on the 23rd as "just a frame."
Former Minister Choo made this remark during a Q&A session with reporters after officially declaring her presidential candidacy at the Ittali Studio in Heyri Reed Square, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, in the afternoon.
Regarding concerns from some quarters that "Former Minister Choo's candidacy might actually boost former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol," she criticized Yoon. Choo said, "The problem with former Prosecutor General Yoon is his problem. It is not my problem. I have no reason to be in conflict."
She also pointed out, "Within the Choo-Yoon conflict frame, there was nothing I could do alone, and now the reality is coming to light."
On the 'presidential primary postponement theory,' she said, "Since I have just declared my candidacy, I also feel time is tight," but added, "It is right to abide by the party constitution and regulations as they are set."
Regarding her future plans, she said, "They are included in my declaration of candidacy. For peace, social reform, welfare, education, and innovation, I will exchange opinions with you all and carry out the schedule accordingly."
Earlier, former Minister Choo declared her presidential candidacy, saying, "I will create a country that elevates people to build a higher world for people. I will build a nation of justice, fairness, and rule of law against the selective justice and fake fairness of vested interests and extralegal acts."
