Pet Shop Franchise PollyPark Accelerates Expansion of Unmanned Stores Based on a Solid System

Pet Shop Franchise PollyPark Accelerates Expansion of Unmanned Stores Based on a Solid System

As South Korea enters an era with 15 million pet-owning households, the pet industry is experiencing significant growth. Alongside this, the rise of ‘homebodies’ due to COVID-19 has increased the time spent with pets, leading to a surge in sales of pet products and resulting in a booming pet business.

Among numerous pet brands, Polly Park is growing into a leading premium pet shop franchise in Korea, approaching its 70th store milestone based on a solid system. Recently, the company has been focusing on introducing new revenue models developed on its proprietary POS System. Representative examples include the near-distance same-day delivery service ‘Laser Delivery’ and the pet shop’s first hybrid store combining staffed and unmanned operations, launched in line with the changing contactless consumption trends.

The POS System, developed since Polly Park opened its first store in 2003, is optimized for pet shop operations. It not only enhances the operational efficiency of franchisees but also serves as a foundation for executing new business ventures, contributing to additional revenue generation for franchise owners. Furthermore, the POS System, a key competitive advantage of the brand, is linked with the logistics center to ensure stable supply of goods to each franchise.

An official stated, “Our self-developed pet shop-exclusive IT system is a differentiated competitive edge that other pet shop brands cannot imitate.” They added, “Through this automated system, we have improved store operational efficiency such as product ordering and inventory management, developed an appropriate inventory function to prevent excessive stock in advance, and help franchise owners operate their stores rationally.”

In addition, the company recently reorganized its education division to strengthen both online and offline training and is investing in various areas such as OEM product development to boost franchise sales.

Meanwhile, Polly Park plans to expand its ‘Hybrid Store’ model, which combines staffed and unmanned stores, to locations in the metropolitan area to offer services to more customers.
