Muan-gun's Traveling Puppet Show for Smoking and Drinking Prevention Receives Great Response

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 23rd that it is operating a traveling smoking and drinking prevention magic story puppet show for children in kindergartens and daycare centers in the area.

The smoking and drinking prevention magic story is a puppet show that presents the harmful substances of cigarettes through comic magic tailored to the cognitive level of early childhood and delivers a message about quitting smoking through familiar characters from traditional folktales.

Through the puppet show, children naturally learn the concepts of smoking cessation and moderation in drinking, and can develop healthy lifestyle habits.

On the 22nd, the county held a magic story puppet show for 87 participants including children, parents, and teachers from three kindergartens and daycare centers, receiving great responses, and plans to provide puppet show performances to 900 children at about 20 daycare centers by August.

Governor Kim San said, “We operate the magic story puppet show to naturally convey the harmful effects of alcohol and cigarettes to children,” adding, “We will continue to run various programs so that children can build the foundation for lifelong health and develop healthy lifestyle habits in the future.”
