[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 23rd that it held the ‘2021 Social Enterprise Startup School Performance Sharing Meeting’ on the 22nd at the Multipurpose Room of the Culture and Arts Center.

This performance sharing meeting was prepared for trainees aspiring to start a business to present a business plan based on what they learned during the training course.

The startup school, which began in April, covered essential topics for social entrepreneurs and corporations such as understanding social enterprises, tax management, organizational management and leadership, establishing business models, and how to write business plans.

The trainees formed teams and shared their thoughts on startup items with each other, establishing feasible businesses, showcasing various startup models, and highlighting the consensus-building for expanding youth social participation.

A total of five teams participated. Ms. Kim Min-sook of Wando Segyero Fisheries Co., Ltd., who presented ‘Manufacture and Sale of Dried Seaweed Products,’ won the Grand Prize; Ms. Kim Mi-kyung of Cheongsando Gudlejang Non Preservation Dure, who presented ‘Restoration of Cheongsan Gudlejang Rice Paddy and Production and Sale of Crops,’ won the Excellence Award; and Mr. Kim Kyung-seok of Wando Culture and Arts Cooperative, who presented ‘Local Cultural Heritage Protection Activities and Experience Performances,’ received the Encouragement Award.

The awardees will undergo a separate advanced course and receive consulting support for government ministry public projects.

Wando-gun expects that the social enterprise startup school performance sharing meeting will help not only strengthen the capabilities of aspiring entrepreneurs but also discover new social enterprises and create jobs.

Kim Seong-su, Director of the Economic and Transportation Division, stated, “We will strive to ensure that the performance sharing meeting is not the ‘end of the support project’ but a ‘new beginning,’” and added, “We will continue to actively support residents challenging startups so that they can pursue their dreams based on the experience and passion they have built themselves.”
