Boseong-gun Invests 123.9 Billion Won for Swift Disaster Prevention and Proactive Response


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced on the 23rd that it is accelerating disaster prevention projects by investing 123.9 billion won to prepare for summer monsoons and typhoons.


The disaster prevention projects currently being implemented by the county include △ Disaster Risk Improvement District Maintenance Project (4 districts, 82.2 billion won), △ Small Stream Maintenance Project (9 districts, 36.4 billion won), △ Disaster Risk Reservoir Maintenance Project (4 districts, 2 billion won), △ Steep Slope Maintenance Project (2 districts, 2.5 billion won), and △ Disaster Risk Area Early Warning System Installation Project (2 districts, 800 million won).


In particular, obstacles blocking water flow have been intensively removed, and drainage pump stations were prioritized for installation in the habitual flood areas of Gyeombaek-myeon Seokho, Doan, and commercial districts. Additionally, Beolgyo drainage pump station and stormwater detention facilities have undergone comprehensive inspections and operational training to proactively respond to disasters caused by typhoons and heavy rains during the summer season.


Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, said, “We are doing our best to secure national funds by selecting new project sites and discovering additional projects for proactive disaster prevention.” He added, “We will continue to uphold the reputation of a safe Boseong worthy of sweeping all safety-related awards and strive to create a Boseong where residents can live with peace of mind.”
