"'Jipkok' Children Gather Together"... Online Science Mission Camp Recruitment

National Children's Science Museum to Operate 'Drive Your Future' Program Starting July 10

"'Jipkok' Children Gather Together"... Online Science Mission Camp Recruitment National Children's Science Museum.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] The National Children's Science Museum will hold an online educational program for children called 'Drive your Future' starting from the 10th of next month.

Due to the COVID-19 emergency, children staying at home can explore the latest science issues online and complete related missions as part of the 'Online Science Mission Camp' series. This is the second season, prepared following the popularity of Season 1 'Save the Earth,' which began in April. The program consists of expert talk shows to cultivate scientific literacy, missions to foster challenge spirit and creativity, and challenge activities that can have a small impact on their surroundings.

Focusing on future transportation, the program will cover various future transportation technologies such as eco-friendly, ultra-high-speed, and air mobility over four sessions at two-week intervals. Videos can be viewed on the National Children's Science Museum's official YouTube channel.

Participants who submit missions and challengers for each session will receive various incentives (free admission tickets to the science museum, mobile gift certificates, etc.). About 30 participants who complete all missions for each session and are selected as outstanding final mission entries will receive a ‘Best Completer’ certification card along with a one-year free admission ticket to the Children's Science Museum and a small science kit gift.

Participants who complete all missions of the three mission camps this year and submit a comprehensive mission participation research essay in December will be awarded the 'Future Science Frontier' certificate. Among them, outstanding works will be separately selected to receive awards such as the Minister of Science and ICT Award (Grand Prize) and the Gwacheon Science Museum Director's Award (Excellence Award). Following Season 1 from April to June and Season 2 from July to September, Season 3 will be held from October to December under the theme 'Draw your Dream.'

The program is designed for toddlers (family units, aged 5 and above) and children (aged 8 to 13). Applications can be made on the National Children's Science Museum website from the 30th of this month until next month. Those who completed the Season 1 mission are guaranteed the opportunity to participate in the subsequent seasons, with a total of about 500 participants expected for Season 2.
