To address the issue of climate change caused by global warming, carbon neutrality has been declared and the Green New Deal projects are underway. Among them, various projects such as hydrogen mobility and hydrogen pilot city initiatives utilizing hydrogen are being carried out.
Hydrogen has been verified as a safer energy source compared to city gas, LPG, and gasoline. Currently, Japan uses hydrogen for residential fuel cell power generation, and France has installed hydrogen charging stations in front of the Eiffel Tower, Japan in front of Tokyo Tower, and South Korea in front of the National Assembly to emphasize hydrogen safety. However, many still associate hydrogen with hydrogen bombs and express concerns about its safety, and issues regarding hydrogen acceptance remain.
The social venture company IQ Communication Co., Ltd. is planning and operating carbon-neutral eco-friendly hydrogen content to promote hydrogen safety and improve hydrogen acceptance.
Using the mobile solution “Check My Hydrogen Index,” users can learn about eco-friendly hydrogen energy, hydrogen vehicles, hydrogen charging stations, hydrogen safety, and hydrogen pilot cities.
By connecting a touchscreen kiosk to a hydrogen vehicle and powering it using the vehicle’s electricity, users can directly experience “Check My Hydrogen Index.”
At the Gyeongnam Tourism Expo last May, while operating the Gyeongnam Promotion Pavilion of the Gyeongnam Tourism Foundation, the kiosk was powered using the eco-friendly electricity of a hydrogen vehicle, allowing visitors to experience digital campfire. Following the trend of increased interest in camping and car camping due to COVID-19, the booth was operated with a car camping concept using hydrogen vehicles and was also used as a photo zone.
In collaboration with Ulsan Technopark, a hydrogen charging station event was held in Ulsan. Along with promoting Ulsan as a hydrogen pilot city, an eco-friendly promotional event was conducted to publicize the safety of hydrogen energy and secure acceptance. The event zone was designed with a car camping concept using hydrogen vehicles, and participants could take quizzes related to Ulsan hydrogen through “What is My Ulsan Hydrogen Index?” using QR codes or tablet PCs, and receive souvenirs via a mobile roulette.
Hydrogen-related YouTube video content was planned and produced. Interviews were conducted with drivers of the hydrogen vehicle Nexo at hydrogen charging stations about hydrogen vehicles and hydrogen safety. A video explaining the difference between hydrogen and hydrogen bombs was also produced. Additionally, videos to promote hydrogen energy and the hydrogen economy were created and shared on YouTube.
Printed promotional materials and web pages for hydrogen energy were designed and produced. To promote Ulsan as a hydrogen pilot city, printed materials and an integrated web page for Ulsan hydrogen pilot city promotion were created, providing comprehensive information about the status, conceptual diagrams, and related projects of Ulsan hydrogen pilot city.
Kim Jong-jin, CEO of IQ Communication Co., Ltd., stated, “When I was a researcher at Hyundai Motor Company, I was involved in research and development related to hydrogen vehicles. Currently, hydrogen energy-related technology development and projects are being carried out worldwide. To promote hydrogen safety and improve hydrogen acceptance, I will continue to plan and develop carbon-neutral eco-friendly hydrogen content in the future.”
