Resumption of Group Tourist Attraction Incentive Program in July
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do is accelerating preparations to attract foreign tourists in line with the government's travel bubble policy.
A travel bubble refers to resuming international travel by exempting quarantine between countries with mutual trust in quarantine measures.
The government is currently in discussions with countries such as Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore.
In the initial phase, group travel will be promoted in July only for those who have completed vaccination.
Accordingly, the province plans to carry out proactive promotional marketing targeting travel bubble countries to attract foreign tourists.
In the early stage, it will establish networks with domestic travel agencies and prepare various support measures.
In July, the province plans to invite about 20 domestic travel agencies for a pre-inspection trip and resume the incentive system for travel agencies attracting group tourists.
Additionally, a dedicated travel agency for attracting foreign tourists to Gyeongnam will be operated. On the 14th, the province selected five domestic dedicated travel agencies to develop and promote unique Gyeongnam tourism products.
Following the implementation of the travel bubble policy, three more dedicated travel agencies will be designated to develop and sell Gyeongnam tourism products.
From June 29 to July 13, the province will participate in the '2021 Korea Tourism International Expo.'
This expo, held mainly online, is expected to be attended by about 2,500 domestic and international buyers, travel agencies, and airlines from approximately 32 countries.
The province plans to promote Gyeongnam's tourism resources through an online exhibition hall and encourage the development of Gyeongnam tourism products through consultations with overseas travel agency representatives.
In May, the Taipei office in Taiwan and Tongyeong City collaborated to hold a promotional event for the garden of light 'Dipirang.'
Furthermore, the province plans to strengthen Gyeongnam tourism promotion by utilizing overseas TV broadcasts and influencer YouTube channels.
