GS25, "Overcoming COVID-19" Simultaneous Music Festival in 4 Countries

[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Convenience store GS25 is hosting its first global online and offline mega festival since the COVID-19 pandemic.

GS25 announced on the 23rd that it will hold the "2021 Music & Beach Festival" (hereafter referred to as MuviFe) simultaneously in four countries?Korea, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Indonesia?for four weeks starting from the 26th. All four countries are markets where GS25 or GS The Fresh (GS Supermarket) operate.

MuviFe has been organized since 2015 as a festival where customers can enjoy performances by leading domestic musicians along with GS25’s signature beers and food, aiming to strengthen communication with customers. The festival was not held last year due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. This year, in line with the "post-COVID" era, it will be conducted in a hybrid format combining online and offline elements. All performances will be live-streamed on GS25’s official YouTube channel "2ri5neora," allowing domestic and international customers to watch remotely, while a small number of specially invited guests will attend the offline venues for direct viewing of each performance.

The special offline invitees include ▲week 1: medical staff dedicated to overcoming COVID-19 ▲week 2: GS25 store managers ▲week 3: firefighters responsible for public safety 24/7 ▲week 4: customers who have completed vaccination. GS25 stores overseas, such as in Vietnam and Mongolia, will set up separate screens to broadcast the performances live.

The performances will begin at 6:30 PM every Saturday from June 26 to July 17. Twenty-four top Korean musicians, including Park Jung-hyun, Kim Bum-soo, god, and Psy, will perform in pairs in a weekly relay format.

Sung Chan-gan, head of GS25’s MD division, said, "To comfort customers in various countries exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to convey messages of support, this year’s MuviFe has expanded into a global festival spanning four countries. We will strictly adhere to quarantine guidelines and ensure thorough preparation to safely conclude the festival."

Meanwhile, to commemorate the MuviFe, GS25 will distribute one million 1,000-won discount coupons on a first-come, first-served basis for purchases over 10,000 won.
