[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Ahead of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China in July, Chinese President Xi Jinping is promoting the achievements of the Communist Party of China to Chinese international students.

On the 22nd, the People's Daily reported that President Xi sent a letter to international students at Peking University the previous day, stating, "Actively understanding the history of the Communist Party of China is very helpful in understanding China's past, present, and future."

He emphasized that the Communist Party of China is focusing on economic development and COVID-19 prevention. President Xi said, "The Communist Party of China has focused on economic development and poverty alleviation and has actively supported other countries in COVID-19 prevention," adding, "The Communist Party is a party that pursues the happiness of the Chinese people and works for human progress."

He then quoted the saying "Seeing once is better than hearing a hundred times" (Baekmunbulyeoilgyeon) and mentioned, "I hope to travel around various parts of China to gain a deeper understanding of China and to play a role in ensuring that the sentiments of the peoples of various countries are well communicated."

Earlier, 45 international student representatives from 32 countries studying at Peking University also sent a congratulatory letter to President Xi on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party.
