[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced that President Kim Chunjin marked his 100th day in office on the 22nd.

The most notable achievements are new projects such as the 'Food Strategic Stockpile Base' and the 'Resident Participation Smart Farm.' These initiatives aim to strengthen food security and support the income growth of farmers and fishermen. From his first day in office on March 15, President Kim actively engaged by personally explaining the project details to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. To ensure the success of new projects, he established a Future Business Development Task Force (TF) and enhanced communication with government officials and academic experts. Notably, the Food Stockpile Base project succeeded in having its budget included in next year's government budget proposal.

To expand online sales channels for local agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, aT began with a tripartite business agreement involving Jeollanam-do Province and 11st Street, followed by various agreements with related organizations. In April, after holding an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management declaration ceremony with clients and partner companies, the 'ESG Management CEO Advisory Committee' was launched. The advisory committee includes members from academia, international organizations, media, and civic groups. Within the organization, ESG management capabilities have been incorporated into managerial performance evaluations.

aT operates the electronic procurement system for school meals (eaT), which is used by approximately 90% of elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide. The scope of the project is expanding beyond schools to public meal services. Recently, the Ministry of National Defense, which has been struggling with poor military meal quality, adopted the eaT system to ensure transparent procurement of meal ingredients.

aT also achieved remarkable results in its core business of exporting and distributing agricultural and fishery products. As of the end of last month, exports of agricultural and fishery products reached $4.4 billion, a 15% increase compared to the same period last year. President Kim plans to continue engaging with export sites in the second half of the year to maintain the export growth trend and achieve this year’s target of $10.6 billion.

President Kim stated, "The corporation has been recognized for its innovation efforts, achieving an A grade in the public institution management evaluation for the first time in six years. We will further strengthen communication with the agricultural and fishery industry field and implement support policies that directly benefit the public."
