Mokpo Yudal Amusement Park Selected as Jeonnam Province's Recommended Tourist Destination for July

Viewpoint Overlooking the Dadohae Archipelago Attracts Tourists

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do announced that Yudal Amusement Park has been selected as the ‘Recommended Tourist Destination of the Month’ for July by Jeollanam-do.

According to the city on the 22nd, “To mark July, Jeollanam-do recommended three tourist spots among 22 cities and counties in the province, including Yudal Amusement Park, under the theme of ‘Emotional Starry Night Travel.’”

Yudal Amusement Park is a sandy beach and surrounding street area about 300 meters long between Shinan Beach Hotel and Mokpo Maritime University. It is lined with cozy cafes and has become a popular spot among young people as a great place for taking photos, rapidly emerging as a famous attraction drawing large crowds.

The view of the Dadohae (Sea of Many Islands) from Yudal Amusement Park is so outstanding that it is considered one of the nine scenic views of Mokpo. Since the construction of Mokpo Bridge in 2012, which is shaped like a crane, the night scenery featuring the Mokpo Bridge, the night lights of Gohado Island, and the stars shining in the night sky have created a spectacular scene, earning it recognition as a night tourism attraction by the Korea Tourism Organization.

To expand experiential attractions at Yudal Amusement Park, the city built a 54-meter-long skywalk over the sea in front of the park in June 2020. The skywalk offers a thrilling sensation of walking above the sea at 15 meters high, and at night, visitors can enjoy the sea reflecting the lights, the illuminated summit of Yudalsan Mountain, and the sparkling night view of Daebandong.
