Jeongeup-si Distributes 'Safety Stickers' to Vaccinated Individuals

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province (Mayor Yoo Jin-seop) announced on the 22nd that starting from the 23rd, it will distribute ‘Vaccination Stickers’ to citizens who have completed the 1st and 2nd doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to encourage participation in vaccination.

The city currently issues paper certificates through institutions such as vaccination centers and online when receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Although mobile electronic certificates can be issued via the ‘KDCA COOV’ app, there is a drawback that elderly people have difficulty using it.

Accordingly, the city decided to provide stickers to boost the pride of vaccinated individuals and encourage unvaccinated people to participate.

The stickers can be attached to resident ID cards, driver’s licenses, or personal mobile phones for use.

The purpose of the vaccination stickers is to encourage and honor citizens who have completed vaccination and cannot be used as proof of vaccination.

For sticker issuance, seniors aged 60 and over can visit their respective eup/myeon/dong community centers to receive the sticker after confirming vaccination status and identity, while other vaccinated individuals can obtain them at the public health center’s vaccination room.

In the future, the city plans to distribute stickers so that they can also be received at private commissioned medical institutions after vaccination.

Mayor Yoo Jin-seop said, “I hope that the elderly, who are having a particularly difficult time due to COVID-19, will regain joyful daily lives by quickly getting vaccinated and participating again in senior center cultural programs and elderly classes.”

Meanwhile, as of the previous day, 46,666 people have completed the 1st dose and 14,230 people have completed the 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the city.
