Gwangjin-gu, Real Estate Brokerage Offices 'Internet Self-Inspection'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will conduct an 'Internet Self-Inspection System' targeting real estate brokerage offices from this month until July 31 to establish a transparent real estate transaction order.

The self-inspection system aims to move away from the existing guidance and inspection focused on sanctions, allowing licensed real estate agents to identify and correct violations themselves, thereby fostering autonomy and responsibility.

Additionally, conducting the self-inspection online increases the efficiency of guidance and inspection and helps prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The inspection targets a total of 906 brokerage offices in the area. Licensed real estate agents must access the 'Real Estate Self-Inspection' menu on the district office website by the 31st of next month, enter the representative's name and brokerage office registration number, then complete and submit the self-inspection form.

The inspection items consist of 37 questions, including mandatory requirements under the Licensed Real Estate Agent Act such as signatures, seals, and preservation of transaction contracts and property confirmation explanation documents, as well as contents related to revised laws such as real estate transaction reporting and housing lease contract reporting systems, and participation in the Good Brokerage Office program.

The district plans to conduct face-to-face inspections through on-site visits later for brokerage offices that do not participate in the self-inspection within the period and in areas with frequent complaints.

District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “Through online self-inspection, we aim to minimize face-to-face contact and prevent the spread of COVID-19, while encouraging licensed real estate agents to self-check to foster professional ethics and compliance awareness. We expect this will enable residents to receive safer and more professional brokerage services.”
