Installation of Two-Way Microphones at Each Counter of Dongdaemun-gu Job Center

Improvement and Operation of 'Kakao Channel' for Rapid Job Information Sharing and Non-Face-to-Face Consultation

Installation of Two-Way Microphones at Each Counter of Dongdaemun-gu Job Center

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) Job Center has reorganized in response to the COVID-19 situation.

By improving the ‘Kakao Channel,’ non-face-to-face services have been expanded, and for job seekers who wish to have in-person consultations, two-way microphones were installed at the consultation desks to alleviate inconveniences caused by the installation of transparent partitions.

If you add the ‘Dongdaemun-gu Job Center’ Kakao Channel as a friend, you can access various materials and job information such as an introduction to the Job Center and guidance on how to register for job openings and job seeking. You can also receive daily updated job information in real time.

Additionally, a ‘chat room’ has been opened to enable in-depth consultations through real-time chatting with career counselors, allowing safe and convenient consultations without having to visit the center in person.

Furthermore, various job training information for job seekers and promotion of the ‘Online Job Fair,’ which is scheduled to be held non-face-to-face, will also be conducted through the ‘Dongdaemun-gu Job Center’ Kakao Channel.

The ‘Dongdaemun-gu Job Center’ channel can be added as a friend on the KakaoTalk application. In the KakaoTalk app friend window, click the ‘magnifying glass’ icon, search for ‘Dongdaemun-gu Job Center,’ and then press the add button.

For job seekers who wish to have in-person consultations, the consultation desk environment has also been improved. Due to the mandatory wearing of masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the installation of transparent partitions at each consultation desk, there were often uncomfortable situations where voices were not clearly heard.

In particular, many elderly job seekers visit the Job Center, and there were frequent difficulties in smooth consultations. To resolve these inconveniences, the district installed two-way microphones at each consultation desk.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We are trying various measures to enhance the safety and convenience of residents visiting the Job Center,” and added, “While thoroughly implementing COVID-19 prevention measures, we will strive to provide useful information quickly and conveniently to residents.”
