Vaccination Rate: Jeonnam Office at 4,304 People (83.54%)... Jeonnam Office Also Leads with 87.54% Reservation Rate
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] As of now, about 80,000 police officers nationwide aged 30 and above have received the COVID-19 vaccine, with the Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency showing the highest vaccination rate.
According to Jeonnam Police on the 21st, the regional vaccination rates among police officers nationwide were highest in Jeonnam with 4,304 officers (83.54%), followed by Jeonbuk (80.57%), Gwangju (77.27%), and Sejong (76.65%). Jeonnam also had the highest vaccine reservation rate at 87.54%.
Moreover, Jeonnam Police recorded only one confirmed COVID-19 case as the entire command team led by example and got vaccinated, marking the lowest number of confirmed cases among police stations nationwide.
This success was largely due to the discovery of special quarantine measures tailored to Jeonnam Police's circumstances.
Jeonnam Police introduced an ‘untact (facial recognition) security and access system’ to block indirect contact risks caused by contaminated body parts (fingers) of personnel when entering the building. Additionally, they moved away from the traditional ‘delivery receipt ledger’ method, where delivery personnel, duty officers, and recipients met face-to-face to document handovers. Instead, they installed function-specific ‘unmanned delivery lockers’ next to the duty office, allowing delivery personnel to place packages directly into lockers in a contactless manner, preventing infection spread.
Above all, from the early stages of COVID-19 quarantine, Jeonnam Police focused on vaccine transportation personnel and vaccination center safety management to ensure on-site stability as the best support measure in areas heavily affected by vaccination and storage issues.
Jeonnam Police have established a total of 42 transportation plans to date, mobilizing 1,609 police personnel to safely transport vaccines to 2,644 vaccination centers and public health centers across regions.
The significantly higher vaccination rate in Jeonnam compared to other provinces is also attributed to this safe vaccine transportation, which enabled smooth supply by local governments.
Kim Jaegyu, Chief of Jeonnam Police, stated, “While rapid vaccination from the early stages is important, it is even more crucial to ensure the safety of colleagues by monitoring their health after vaccination,” and urged, “Please do your best in the integrated management of adverse reactions to the vaccine.”
