On May 14th, PK Valve, a subsidiary of STX Co., Ltd. and the largest comprehensive valve company in Korea, was selected as a support target company for the AI Convergence Energy Efficiency Project hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, and signed an agreement to officially begin △developing artificial intelligence technology △reducing carbon emissions through improved energy efficiency.
The AI Energy Efficiency Project aims to enhance the energy efficiency of manufacturing plants using artificial intelligence technology, with core goals of △maintaining factory productivity and reducing carbon emissions △and improving the AI technology capabilities of the manufacturing industry.
PK Valve is participating in this project by forming a consortium with six companies located in the Changwon National Industrial Complex, planning to develop an AI monitoring system for strategic usage optimization over approximately nine months by utilizing FMES (Factory Energy Management System) big data.
In particular, they plan to develop an AI web platform capable of periodic monitoring of power inefficiencies in factories and establish a real-time control system to diagnose the status of each facility in the factory and achieve a 4% energy efficiency target.
PK Valve CEO Youngchan Jeon stated, “The successful introduction of the energy management system through this AI Convergence Energy Efficiency Project is expected to be a key momentum for enhancing AI technology necessary for PK Valve to leap forward as the world’s top valve specialist company in the future,” and expressed his ambition, “We will gradually expand AI technology investments for PK Valve’s sustainable growth.”
Meanwhile, PK Valve has signed a business cooperation agreement (MOU) with its holding company STX Co., Ltd. and STX Marine Service to expand business cooperation, promoting △the establishment of a valve production base in Saudi Arabia △and the expansion of MRO and OEM/ODM businesses through collaboration with STX Marine Service. In particular, regarding the consolidation of the PK brand’s position in the Middle East / North Africa valve market, the strategic partnership with STX Co., Ltd., which has local corporations in Dubai and a global network, and STX Marine Service, which operates and manages the 900MW diesel power plant in Iraq, is expected to be effective.
