[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] On the 19th, the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced on the 20th that the number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Seoul in one day was 165.


This is 32 fewer than the 197 cases reported the previous day (18th) and 11 fewer than the 176 cases reported on the same day last week (12th).


The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul surged to 277 on the 4th of this month, then fluctuated in the low 200s on weekdays, and ranged in the 100s on weekends or the day after holidays when testing numbers decreased. The numbers recorded over the past week were 122→131→201→201→200→197→165.


Of the new confirmed cases, 152 were domestic infections and 13 were imported cases.


As of midnight on the 20th, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Seoul stands at 47,695. Currently, 2,383 people are in isolation treatment, and 44,805 have been declared fully recovered and released from isolation. The number of COVID-19 deaths in Seoul increased by one in 24 hours, bringing the total to 507.
