[Today's Weather] Sunny Across the Country on the 19th... Sunscreen Essential

[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] On Saturday the 19th, the whole country is expected to be mostly clear with air quality at a clean level. However, caution is needed by applying sunscreen to avoid direct skin exposure to strong sunlight.

The northern part of Yeongdong, Gangwon Province will have many clouds, and some areas in the northern mountainous region of Gangwon may experience showers in the afternoon. Expected precipitation is 5 to 10 mm.

As of 5 a.m. that day, temperatures in major regions nationwide were Seoul 17.7°C, Incheon 18.1°C, Suwon 17.8°C, Chuncheon 17.1°C, Gangneung 20.8°C, Cheongju 19.1°C, Daejeon 18.5°C, Jeonju 19.1°C, Gwangju 18.9°C, Jeju 21.3°C, Daegu 19.7°C, Busan 19.8°C, Ulsan 20.2°C, Changwon 19.3°C, etc.

The daytime high temperature is forecast to be between 23 and 31 degrees Celsius. With clear skies and sunlight, temperatures are expected to rise more than 10 degrees compared to the morning, mainly inland. The previously hot eastern coasts of Gangwon and Gyeongbuk will be 1 to 3 degrees cooler than the previous day, while the rest of the country will be 2 to 5 degrees warmer than the cooler temperatures of yesterday. However, due to low humidity, the actual perceived temperature is expected to be 1 to 2 degrees lower.

Fine dust concentration is expected to be at a 'Good' to 'Moderate' level across all regions.

Dense fog is forecast mainly along the west coast, southern Yeongseo in Gangwon, northern inland Gyeongbuk, eastern Jeonbuk, and western Gyeongnam until morning. Some areas on the west coast may experience drizzle.

Sea waves will be 0.5 to 1 meter in the coastal waters of the East Sea, West Sea, and South Sea. Wave heights in the open sea are expected to be 0.5 to 1.5 meters across all seas.

The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "Please be sure to apply sunscreen to avoid direct exposure to ultraviolet rays when going outside," and added, "From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., sunlight is especially strong, so it is better to stay indoors or stay in the shade."
