[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Juhyung] The Democratic Party of Korea posted a video alleging military service corruption involving Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, but later removed it. In response, Lee strongly criticized the move, saying, "The true face of Democratic Party-style cooperation has been revealed."

On the 18th, Lee shared the link to the Democratic Party video mentioning his military service allegations on his Facebook, saying, "It's absurd to see an official party YouTube channel doing this."

He added, "Since they underestimate the prosecution, even though I was cleared 10 years ago, they keep doing this," and sarcastically remarked, "They say not to make baseless accusations (Eokka), right?"

The video Lee shared is currently set to private. Regarding this, Lee said, "The Democratic Party took down the video," and added, "I will understand it as a mistake and continue the spirit of cooperation."

Meanwhile, on the same day, Kim Yong-min, the senior supreme council member of the Democratic Party, mentioned Lee's military service corruption allegations during the party's supreme council meeting held at the National Assembly.

Kim pointed out, "Among the various allegations related to Lee, the suspicion that he participated in a national project for which he was ineligible while serving as an industrial technical personnel seems to have reasonable grounds."

He continued, "If the allegations raised by the media are true, it means Lee deprived some young person of an opportunity by applying for that process," and said, "We will wait for the truth to be revealed."

In response to these allegations, Lee posted a rebuttal on his Facebook on the same day.

Lee explained, "Kim Yong-min lawmaker raised military service allegations against me after listening to what YouTubers said, but this is a matter that was already settled 10 years ago," adding, "When I applied for the Software Maestro program, I inquired with the Military Manpower Administration and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency and confirmed everything before applying."

He further emphasized, "The Military Manpower Administration said there was no problem 10 years ago, and even after then-lawmaker Kang Yong-seok filed a complaint, the prosecution reviewed it again and found no issues," and said, "The prosecution investigated all of that."

He then criticized, "It is truly embarrassing when a supreme council member causes such a situation right after discussing cooperation with Democratic Party leader Song Young-gil."
