Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Achieves B Grade in Public Enterprise Management Evaluation for 3 Consecutive Years


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Minsik, hereinafter referred to as the Authority) announced on the 18th that it achieved a B grade for three consecutive years in the 2020 Public Institution Management Performance Evaluation (hereinafter referred to as the Evaluation) announced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, following 2018 and 2019.


This year's Evaluation maintained the social value-centered evaluation framework strengthened since 2018, and enhanced assessments on ethical management, COVID-19 response, Korean New Deal promotion, and the introduction of job-based pay.


The Authority's results in this Evaluation are seen as the outcome of actively working toward the development of Yeosu and Gwangyang Ports through job creation, strengthening port safety management, proactive COVID-19 response, introduction of a job-centered compensation system, and promotion of automated container terminal development.


President Cha Minsik of the Authority stated, “To fulfill the responsibilities of a public enterprise, we will take the lead in realizing social value and management innovation, and to enhance the global competitiveness of Yeosu and Gwangyang Ports, we will steadily carry out key projects such as the development of the nation’s first automated terminal.”
