[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Seoul Jangsu announced on the 18th that it will sell 'Jangsu Saeng Makgeolli' and 'Dalbit Yuja' in slushy form at golf courses nationwide to suit the summer season.
'Jangsu Saeng Makgeolli' is Seoul Jangsu's representative makgeolli. 'Dalbit Yuja' has gained popularity through word of mouth on social networking services (SNS) since its launch in September last year, and its cumulative sales have now surpassed approximately 400,000 bottles.
Seoul Jangsu introduced slushy-style makgeolli, noting the increasing number of young golfers and the resulting changes in golf course food offerings. The 'Jangsu Saeng Makgeolli' slushy maintains the freshness of makgeolli while enhancing its unique refreshing sensation. The 'Dalbit Yuja' slushy is richer in fragrance and sweet acidity compared to traditional makgeolli, and Seoul Jangsu expects it to become a popular summer golf course snack.
Seoul Jangsu stated, “We have introduced the slushy as a unique seasonal limited menu so that makgeolli can be enjoyed cool even in hot weather,” adding, “As a leading makgeolli company, we will continue to strive to expand opportunities for makgeolli experiences through various attempts in line with customers’ new lifestyles and trends.”
