[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] It was recently revealed that the masks worn by leaders during the G7 Summit held in the UK from the 11th to the 13th (local time) were products developed and manufactured by a Korean company.
According to Toptec, a factory automation (FA) specialist company, on the 17th, the leaders and attendees at the G7 Summit wore 'Air Queen' masks produced by this company.
A Toptec official said, "We were very surprised to see UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other summit officials wearing Air Queen masks," adding, "Toptec did not sponsor masks for the G7 Summit; it seems that the importers and distributors of Air Queen supplied the masks during the summit."
He continued, "Air Queen obtained the CE certification, the European Community mark, in the second half of last year, and since then, many masks have been exported to Europe."
The company that developed and produced the Air Queen masks is 'Lemon,' a nano-fiber manufacturer and a subsidiary of Toptec. Chairman Lee Jaehwan of Toptec established Lemon in 2012 and has been developing nano-fibers.
Currently, both Lemon and Toptec produce and sell masks under the brand 'Air Queen.'
