[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Telecom announced on the 17th that it will operate an English play-based class called 'Kkuljam School' at the experiential complex cultural space ZEM PLAYS.
Opened on March 23, ZEM PLAYS is the first flagship store of SK Telecom's integrated wired and wireless brand 'ZEM' for children under 12 years old. It aims to be a space where children can enjoy and immerse themselves in English through various media experiences. Despite operating as a reservation-only visit program due to the impact of COVID-19, all reservations were fully booked until the end of June, showing high popularity. In particular, more than 72% of visitors reside in nearby areas such as Mapo-gu and Yongsan-gu, and 54% of visits come through recommendations from acquaintances, establishing it as a community landmark in the Mapo area.
In response to customer requests for diversified participation programs, Kkuljam School is planned to be conducted in three courses: an online class for elementary students and parents, and an offline class for elementary students held directly at ZEM PLAYS.
The online class for elementary students is divided into three levels according to English proficiency, with two groups per level. The online class for parents will be operated as a single group program in three-week cycles. Each class is led by native English teachers and education experts to develop the ability to read English books and engage in free discussions. The offline class held at ZEM PLAYS targets elementary students and operates as a weekly program for groups of four students, including experiential activities such as reading books and making clay.
Applications for Kkuljam School, which will start on the 29th, will be accepted from that day until the 23rd on the ZEM PLAYS website. Winners will be announced on the 25th, and all educational programs are free to participate in.
