Yangju City to Fully Implement 'Civil Service Office Lunch Break Closure System' Starting July Yangju City Hall

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, will fully implement a lunch break closure system in the city hall civil service office starting from the 1st of next month.

On the 16th, the city stated, "The purpose is to minimize COVID-19 infections by reducing face-to-face contact between civil petitioners and employees, and to improve the work efficiency of civil service staff through focused work outside of lunch hours."

The lunch break closure system will operate on weekdays from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, and the target departments are the Civil Service Department, Vehicle Management Department, Taxation Department, and Collection Department, totaling four departments.

To alleviate citizen inconvenience and help adaptation following the full implementation of the closure system, the city plans to organize and operate departmental work shifts responsible for handling civil service phone calls and unmanned civil service issuance machine guidance.

Before the full implementation of the closure system, the city had conducted pilot operations sequentially, starting with the Civil Service Department in November last year, and expanding to the Vehicle Management Department, Taxation Department, and Collection Department in April this year.
