hy (Korea Yakult) has introduced 'Proniq.' It received the first-ever certification in Korea from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for a spoonable probiotic health functional food. Following three types of liquid probiotics, the company plans to expand the product line to offer an alternative to the powder-based market.
Proniq is a combination of the words Probiotics and Unique. It symbolizes expertise and a premium image. The product comes in four flavors: strawberry, peach, blueberry, and plain. It contains three patented probiotics from hy, which help promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, suppress harmful bacteria, and support gut health.
The packaging displays the probiotic functionality and health functional food mark. Enhancing customer trust can lead to increased sales. After certification, sales of the three liquid probiotics increased by approximately 22.8% compared to the previous year.
Byun Gyu, head of hy's marketing division, stated, "Among spoonable yogurts sold on the market, Proniq is the only product certified by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for probiotics," emphasizing, "We will establish the formula 'Probiotics = hy' in consumers' minds."
