[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Dementia Safety Center in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 16th that it will select individuals with mild dementia registered at the center who have completed COVID-19 vaccination and promote face-to-face programs for daily life recovery.

This face-to-face program will be conducted through making traditional herbal tea, walking in the cypress healing forest, and mindfulness meditation, and will be linked with the dementia shelter program, a cognitive recovery program.

The center will conduct the program with 10 selected participants over a total of 4 sessions (2 hours per day), aiming for quality rest, meditation in everyday life, increased daily activities, and exercise.

In particular, the cypress healing forest walk will be offered as a healing program for light walking, strolling, deep breathing, and mindfulness, centered around Hampyeong Cheonjigil, which Hampyeong-gun has been intensively developing recently.

Jung Myeonghee, director of the Hampyeong-gun Public Health Center, stated, “This project prioritizes those who have completed COVID-19 vaccination as the main participants, encourages vaccination participation among the unvaccinated, and plans to continuously provide family meetings and self-help group programs to reduce the caregiving burden for dementia patients and their families.”
