[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon City is accepting entries for the '7th Incheon Peace Creative Song Festival' until the 29th.
Now in its 7th year, the Incheon Peace Creative Song Festival was planned to discover representative peace songs symbolizing peace and spread them nationwide, thereby solidifying Incheon's status as an international peace city.
The Incheon Citizens' Culture and Arts Center was selected as the organizing body. After the submission deadline on the 29th, about 25 teams will be preliminarily selected through audio and document screening. Then, after a public audition on the 24th of next month, 10 teams will be chosen to perform on the final stage on September 11.
The songs that reach the finals will be produced as a compilation album and simultaneously distributed nationwide through online music platforms. Additionally, prizes will be awarded based on evaluations by professional judges and a citizen judging panel: 5 million KRW for the Grand Prize, 3 million KRW for the Popularity Award, 3 million KRW for the Art Award, and 1 million KRW each for seven Encouragement Awards.
Anyone can participate regardless of professional or amateur status, age, nationality, or genre, as long as the song is an original work that has not been previously released.
Applicants wishing to participate can download the application form from the online cafe (http://cafe.daum.net/ic-peacesong), fill it out, and submit it via internet (web hard) or mail.
An official from Incheon City stated, "Given that the recent COVID-19 situation has made us realize once again how precious peace is not only in contrast to war but also in everyday life, we hope that through this song festival, various peace songs about daily life peace, family peace, peace at school, and peace at work will be created."
