[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] An emergency patient suffering from respiratory distress occurred in an island village in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, and the Coast Guard urgently transported the patient.

According to the Mokpo Coast Guard Station (Chief Im Jae-su) on the 16th, at around 2:35 PM on the 15th, a report was received that Ms. A (female, in her 70s) in Bigeumdo, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, showed symptoms of respiratory distress due to hypoxia and needed to be transported to a large hospital.

The Coast Guard dispatched a coastal rescue boat from the local police substation, boarded the patient and her guardian in Bigeumdo, and transported them. They arrived at Namgang Pier in Amtaedo, Sinan-gun, at around 4:09 PM and handed over the patient to the waiting 119 ambulance team.

Ms. A, who was urgently transported with the help of the Coast Guard, was moved to a hospital in Mokpo and is currently receiving treatment.

A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, "The aging of island residents and tourists have caused the incidence of emergency patients in island areas to increase every year," and added, "We will do our best to care for emergency patients with the heart of taking care of our own family."
