Gwanak-gu Supports Three-Item Set for Single Women Households: IP CCTV, Door Opening Sensor, and Portable Emergency Bell

Support for 50 Single-Woman Households and 50 Single-Woman Stores in the District on a First-Come, First-Served Basis

Gwanak-gu Supports Three-Item Set for Single Women Households: IP CCTV, Door Opening Sensor, and Portable Emergency Bell

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) announced that it has been selected for the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s ‘2021 Women’s Safety Support Project’ and will establish a safety network for single-woman households and single-woman store owners.

The district has been selected for the contest for three consecutive years, securing an annual budget of up to 40 million KRW. This year, it will promote the installation support project of the ‘Dundeun House 3-piece Set’ for vulnerable areas such as multi-family housing and one-room apartments where single-woman households reside, along with the ‘Dundeun Store’ project to support safe economic activities of single-woman store owners.

The ‘Dundeun House 3-piece Set’ consists of three items: a home-use IP CCTV that detects abnormal behavior of outsiders and sends alerts to the user’s mobile phone, a double-lock auxiliary key for the front door, and a portable emergency bell that, when pulled in an emergency, automatically sends an emergency message to acquaintances and 112 (emergency number) along with an alarm sound.

Any single-woman household residing in Gwanak-gu in a housing unit with a lease deposit under 150 million KRW, and who is not already a recipient of the existing Safe Home 3-piece Set, can apply.

The ‘Dundeun Store’ project supports the installation of a ‘Safe Bell’ for single-woman store owners in the area. In case of an emergency, pressing the Safe Bell connects to the control center, which recognizes the danger and dispatches the local police station to patrol the surroundings.

The support scale is 50 households for the Dundeun House 3-piece Set and 50 locations for the Dundeun Store, with applications accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted.

Single-woman households and single-woman store owners who wish to apply can refer to the Gwanak-gu Office website (News & Notices → Public Announcements), fill out the application form, and submit it via email (wys550@ga.go.kr) or fax to the person in charge.

Park Jun-hee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, said, “It is urgent to promote a Gwanak-type women’s safety project that reflects the regional characteristics and resident needs of our district, which has many single-woman households.” He added, “We will continue to enhance the status of Gwanak as a women-friendly city in its second year by preventing crimes against women and creating a safe living environment to protect women’s safety and build a happy city.”
