[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] The last of a three-person gang accused of attempting to steal valuables and fleeing from an apartment in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, has also been arrested.
Shin Yong-moo, the judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Eastern District Court, conducted a pre-arrest suspect interrogation (warrant review) at 10:30 a.m. on the 15th for the remaining suspect charged with attempted special robbery and other offenses, and subsequently issued an arrest warrant.
Judge Shin stated the reason for issuing the warrant was "concern over the risk of flight." Earlier, on the 14th, the court had issued arrest warrants for two of the three robbers, citing "risk of escape."
The three-person gang is accused of threatening a victim returning home around 4:20 a.m. on the 12th and two companions with a weapon, forcing their way into the victim's residence, and attempting to steal mobile phones and valuables. It is understood that they fled when a food delivery person arrived at the victim's home.
The Seongdong Police Station in Seoul apprehended two of the three robbers on the 12th and arrested the remaining one the following day.
