CU·GS25, Parcel Delivery Fees Increase Starting Tomorrow... Up to 1,000 Won Hike

CU·GS25, Parcel Delivery Fees Increase Starting Tomorrow... Up to 1,000 Won Hike

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] The parcel delivery service prices at convenience stores CU and GS25 will increase starting from the 15th. This is a result of the price hike in CJ Logistics' parcel delivery fees being reflected in the convenience store industry.

According to the industry on the 14th, CU announced that from tomorrow, the parcel delivery fee will increase by 300 KRW from a minimum of 2,600 KRW (for weights under 350g) to 2,900 KRW. For parcels weighing up to 1kg, the fee will also increase by 300 KRW, while for parcels weighing between 1kg and 5kg, the fee will rise by 400 KRW. For parcels weighing between 5kg and 20kg, the fee will increase by 800 KRW.

GS25 will raise the parcel delivery fee for weights under 350g from 2,600 KRW to 2,900 KRW, an increase of 300 KRW. For parcels weighing 2 to 3kg, the fee will increase by 400 KRW from 4,500 KRW to 4,900 KRW, and for parcels weighing 20 to 25kg, the fee will increase by 1,000 KRW.

Currently, both CU and GS25 have transportation contracts with CJ Logistics. There is no price change for CU's own delivery services, CU Kkiri Parcel and Half-Price Parcel, which use the convenience store's own delivery vehicles.

Seven Eleven and Emart24 will not raise their prices. Seven Eleven, which has a contract with Lotte Delivery, maintains a basic parcel delivery price of 3,500 KRW. Emart24, contracted with Hanjin Delivery, offers a uniform price of 3,500 KRW for parcels weighing up to 20kg.
