[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Independent lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo urged Lee Jun-seok, the leader of the People Power Party, who expressed a positive stance on his reinstatement issue, saying, "Showtime is over. Now it's time to see Lee Jun-seok's capabilities as party leader."

On the 14th, Hong posted on his Facebook, "With generational integration and becoming the face of the party as the leader, you have been placed on a difficult test to navigate this harsh political arena," expressing this view.

He advised, "Please keep in mind the saying '당단부단(當斷不斷) 반수기란(反受其亂)' and approach this crisis with the attitude of cutting the Gordian knot in one stroke to overcome it."

'당단부단 반수기란' is a historical phrase from the Chunshingunjeon (春申君傳) in the Records of the Grand Historian (史記), meaning 'If you fail to cut what should be cut, disaster will follow.'

He concluded by saying, "Once again, congratulations on the launch of the Lee Jun-seok administration."

Meanwhile, on the same day, Lee appeared on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs' and stated, "There is currently no principle-based obstacle to Hong's reinstatement."

He added, "However, since we have a Supreme Council to conduct political discussions as the party's highest decision-making body, we do not know who might raise this issue, but we will make a decision after sufficient discussion. Personally, I see no reason to delay the reinstatement."
