Daesang, Homings Offers a Home-Cooked Meal Preserving Texture and Nutrition with Rapid Freezing


[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Daesang Cheongjeongwon's ready meal brand 'Homings' is a brand created by combining 'Home' with the present continuous tense 'ing'. It embodies the satisfaction felt through a ‘proper meal’ made and enjoyed at home. Daesang plans to introduce high-quality products that consumers can easily enjoy under Cheongjeongwon's 'Homings' brand.


The first products include main dishes and fried rice. The main dishes are grilled, hot pot, and stir-fried dishes that are usually cumbersome to prepare at home, made with restaurant-quality recipes so anyone can easily enjoy them. The products consist of Eonyang-style crispy bulgogi, Cheongsong-style chicken bulgogi, Seoul-style beef bulgogi hot pot, and Busan-style gopchang hot pot. All ingredients needed for each dish, such as meat, vegetables, seasoning, broth, and noodles, come pre-prepared so the dish can be completed within 10 minutes. Unlike conventional ready meals, these are not pre-cooked but rapidly frozen fresh raw meat and vegetables, allowing consumers to enjoy the nutrition and texture of the ingredients as they are.


The fried rice comes in five varieties: whole shrimp fried rice, chicken breast fried rice, beef fried rice, ham and vegetable fried rice, and crab and lobster fried rice. Noting consumers’ concerns about oil intake when eating fried rice, high-quality olive oil, which is good for health, was used to make the fried rice. To bring out the unique flavor of fried rice, 100% Spanish olive oil and fragrant scallion oil were used together to impart a deep smoky aroma, and each grain of rice was rapidly frozen to preserve the fluffy texture of freshly fried rice.


A Daesang official said, "Homings is a new ready meal brand from Cheongjeongwon prepared to satisfy every moment when consumers think about the menu, cook by themselves, and enjoy delicious meals," adding, "We plan to continue introducing differentiated products from existing ready meals so that consumers can easily enjoy ‘proper meals’."
