Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries Recruiting New Trainees for Fishing Vessel Brokerage Business

[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced on the 14th that it will recruit trainees for the '2021 New Training for Fishing Vessel Brokerage Business' to be held in July and September over two days, the 17th and 18th.

This training, conducted annually to strengthen the professional capabilities of fishing vessel brokers, is divided into new training for those wishing to register newly and refresher training for existing brokers. This year, the new training for fishing vessel brokerage business will be held twice, in July and September, aiming to train a total of 60 people.

Applications for the training can be made through the Fishing Vessel Transaction System website. This year, all applicants who apply during the two-day period will be selected as trainees through a random draw.

The new training for fishing vessel brokerage business is a mandatory legal education required for registration as a fishing vessel broker. Training and evaluation are conducted on three subjects: ▲Fishing Vessel Brokerage Business System ▲Practical Work of Fishing Vessel Brokerage Business ▲Professional Ethics and Consumer Education, after which a certificate of completion is issued.
