[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Norang Poongseon, the nation's No. 1 direct sales travel specialist company, announced on the 14th that it has officially opened an OTA (Online Travel Agency)-centered integrated platform for independent travel. It has been about two years since the platform development began.
Combining the latest IT technology with its own platform and leveraging sales know-how that has led the direct sales travel industry, the company aims to lead the post-COVID travel market, which will be newly reorganized. Starting from the 14th, it will launch a grand open promotion and fully expand its business in travel, commerce, and other areas based on the platform.
The 'Norang Poongseon Independent Travel Platform' focused on securing a solid differentiation in service and technological competitiveness compared to existing offline-centered travel agencies and OTA travel agencies. Previously, there was inconvenience in having to book and pay separately for travel products such as flights, hotels, tours, activities, and rental cars, but Norang Poongseon implemented a one-stop service that allows not only travel itinerary management but also booking and payment of all travel products at once.
In addition to real-time lowest price travel product searches, a feature that analyzes users' purchase information, search history, and consumption patterns using big data to show personalized recommended products has been applied. When booking flights and hotels simultaneously, automatic discounts are applied, and various discount coupons are provided even when purchasing individual products. The product recommendation function and coupon issuance service using big data can be applied not only to independent travel but also to existing package products.
Based on the travel platform, the company is also entering the commerce business. A new 'shopping category' has been established to select and sell popular local items that are difficult to obtain domestically but are must-buy items during overseas travel. The shopping platform's functions will be continuously expanded to diversify product groups beyond travel-related products, including outdoor and luxury goods.
Furthermore, a new B2B system to provide business services will be introduced. The plan is to maximize the platform business area by expanding the scope of commercial services such as ▲ a B2B platform where suppliers without separate sales channels can enter and sell products directly ▲ BTMS (Business Travel Management System), which provides convenience to business travelers during corporate trips and increases the efficiency of trip management and supervision by trip managers, thereby offering cost reduction effects.
A Norang Poongseon official said, "We judged that having our own platform was the top priority to sensitively respond to the rapidly changing external environment, so we launched our own platform based on the experience and know-how accumulated over more than 20 years in the travel industry. As overseas travel becomes possible starting with vaccinated individuals, we plan to continuously improve the system by reflecting actual users' purchase information analysis and behavior patterns."
He added, "We will actively collaborate with partner companies on the platform and expand various infrastructures to present a new travel trend as the next-generation Korean-style OTA where customers can design their own travel."
