Father 'Arrested' on Murder Charges of Daughter in 'Naju Mother-Daughter Death Case'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] A father in his 40s, who was the first to report the 'Naju mother and daughter death case' in Jeonnam, has been arrested on charges of causing his daughter's death.

On the 13th, the Naju Police Station in Jeonnam arrested Mr. A (48) on charges including murder. Mr. A is suspected of causing the death of his teenage daughter at his home in Naju between the night of the 10th and 5:30 a.m. on the 11th. At around 5:30 a.m. on the 11th, Mr. A reported to the fire department that his wife in her 40s and daughter were found dead.

No significant external injuries were found on the two bodies. It is reported that Mr. A stated he had fallen asleep intoxicated the previous night and found the two deceased upon waking.

However, Mr. A reportedly changed his statement, saying that due to severe financial difficulties, the couple had previously attempted suicide but failed, and that during a subsequent suicide attempt with his wife, the wife caused the daughter's death.

The police suspect that Mr. A may have caused his daughter's death, then mixed alcohol with drugs, lost consciousness, and after waking up, made the report. A police official stated, "We plan to investigate the exact cause of death of the daughter and wife through an autopsy."
