On that day, 7 entrants from Indonesia tested positive. Among them, 5 people who entered on May 31 were confirmed positive in the test before quarantine release. The remaining 2 people entered on the 12th and were confirmed positive.
There were also 2 cases of infection due to contact with confirmed patients from Seoul.
One case of infection with an unknown source was also reported. The city health authorities are currently investigating the source of infection.
Other confirmed cases were found to have been infected through family members or acquaintances.
As a result of investigating 184 employees and users of an indoor sports facility in Buk-gu, which corresponded to the movement path of confirmed patients, the city health authorities found no additional confirmed cases.
Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Busan City increased to 5,938.
As of 9 PM the previous day, 29,819 people completed the first dose of vaccination, and 7,546 people completed the second dose, resulting in a first dose vaccination rate of 67% and a second dose vaccination rate of 14.1%.
Regarding vaccination, Busan City reported that among the total population of 3,356,587, 25.6% have completed the first dose, and 5.4% have completed the second dose.
The Janssen vaccine vaccination rate for reservists and civil defense personnel aged 30 and over is 58.6%.
Lee Sora, head of the quarantine promotion team, stated, “On the 10th, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced that the nationwide reservation rate exceeded 80%, showing a high willingness to vaccinate, and some of the reserved appointments may have their vaccination schedules adjusted.” She added, “In Busan City as well, some reserved individuals may find it difficult to get vaccinated, and those who inevitably cannot get vaccinated can do so in July.”
An additional 146 vaccinated individuals showed adverse reactions. Among them, 145 reported common symptoms such as muscle pain and fever. The remaining one showed a suspected severe case and is currently hospitalized in the intensive care unit receiving treatment.
