New COVID-19 Cases at 452... Back to 400s After Five Days

[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] On the 13th, the number of new COVID-19 cases was recorded in the mid-400s.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, there were 452 new confirmed cases, bringing the total to 147,874.

This is a decrease of 113 cases compared to the previous day (565 cases), dropping back to the 400s for the first time in five days since the 8th (454 cases).

Although the number of confirmed cases has decreased, it is difficult to say that the spread of COVID-19 has been definitively curbed. This is because the number of tests usually drops significantly on weekends and holidays, leading to a decrease in the number of patients.

Among the new confirmed cases on this day, 419 were locally transmitted and 33 were imported cases.

Looking at the recent COVID-19 outbreak situation, small to medium-sized cluster infections linked to everyday spaces are occurring nationwide, causing the daily number of confirmed cases to fluctuate between 400 and 700.

Based on the announcement date, the number of new confirmed cases over the past week from the 7th to this day were 485 → 454 → 602 → 610 → 556 → 565 → 452 respectively. During this period, the 400s occurred three times, and the 500s and 600s each occurred twice.
