A Pause for Young People's Intense Job Search Efforts!

Geumcheon-gu Operates 'Youth Comma Classroom' for Autonomous Career Exploration of Youth in Rest Period... Online Registration Until June 27, Selecting 75 Youth Aged 19-39

A Pause for Young People's Intense Job Search Efforts!

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is operating the ‘Youth Comma Classroom’ to support young people in their break period to explore their career paths independently, and is recruiting participants until the 27th.

The ‘Youth Comma Classroom’ is a project designed to help young people on a break due to leave of absence, job search, or preparing for job change to independently plan their lives through deep self-exploration. It provides various activities to enrich the break period, including professional career counseling and education.

The education program will be conducted online from July to August in a total of 8 sessions after selecting participants in June.

Youth who wish to participate can fill out the application form by scanning the QR code on the Youth Comma Classroom promotional material and submit it online.

The total number of recruits is 75, with priority given to young people residing or active in Geumcheon-gu.

The program will be divided into three classes with different days and times, considering the diverse situations and lifestyles of young people.

Meanwhile, the ‘Youth Comma Classroom’ was established through a policy proposal by the Geumcheon-gu Youth Network in 2020, following discussions on the need to support ‘gap year’ activities, which are gaining attention as a preparation period for career exploration and re-leaping for young people at life transition points.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “Recently, the early resignation rate of young people who have focused only on building their resumes without proactive career consideration is rapidly increasing. Through the Youth Comma Classroom, I hope young people can discover their strengths and aptitudes and create an opportunity to optimistically plan their future based on diverse experiences.”
