This is 81 fewer than the 474 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
Looking at the regions where new confirmed cases occurred on this day, 312 cases (79.4%) were in the metropolitan area, and 81 cases (20.6%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
By city and province, there were 164 cases in Seoul, 136 in Gyeonggi, 15 in Daegu, 13 in Busan, 12 in Incheon, 10 in Gangwon, 9 in Chungbuk, 8 in Gyeongnam, 7 in Gyeongbuk, 5 each in Daejeon and Chungnam, 4 in Jeju, 2 each in Gwangju and Ulsan, and 1 in Jeonnam.
Among the 17 cities and provinces, no confirmed cases have yet been reported in Sejong and Jeonbuk.
The previous day, after 6 p.m., 91 more cases were added, closing at a final count of 565 cases.
Based on the announcement date, the number of new confirmed cases reported daily over the past week from the 6th to this day were 556 → 485 → 454 → 602 → 610 (corrected from the initial 611) → 556 → 565.
With an average of about 547 cases per day over the week, the key indicator for adjusting social distancing levels, the daily average of locally transmitted confirmed cases, is 524. This still falls within the 2.5 level range (nationwide 400?500 or more cases).
Regarding major cluster infection cases, a total of 28 people were confirmed over three days related to the office of Democratic Party lawmaker Ahn Gyu-baek in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
Lawmaker Ahn was confirmed positive on the 10th. Before testing positive, he is known to have attended various party meetings and media events, so additional confirmed cases may occur.
At a pub in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, a total of 10 infections have been reported since the 8th, and at a steel factory in Suncheon, Jeonnam Province, a total of 6 cases have been confirmed since the 9th.
